The Suikerbos trail (2.2km) was developed for the flower lovers. The Suikerbos protea, Protea Caffra, grows on the southern side of the escarpment with a beautiful view of the Suikerbosrand as well as Meyerton, Henley, Vereeniging, Vanderbijl and Sasol. An interesting walk that has a few assents and descents. This walk can also be combined with the Red paintbrush at 2km. For the more serious hiker the Tarentaal trail lengthens the walk by 3.1km.
The Red paintbrush trail takes you through thornbush area that was specifically marked out to view the beautiful scadoxus bulbs that are in bloom in their thousands during October. The Bofanie better known as the rolbos or sore eye, which is rare to the area, can also be viewed. The route starts about 250 meters from the bush camp through a small pine forest. There are two picnic spots on route
The Tarentaal trail begins at the nursey and takes you though thick thorn bush, blue gum plantations and grassland habitat. Returning via the 2.9km dirt track road takes about 3 hours.
